Born in Derry, educated at St. Columb’s College and the Queen’s University, Belfast, is professor of Irish at N.U.I.Galway. He has written and edited twenty books and numerous articles on Irish Grammar and Donegal Literature, including An Fear Deireannach den tSloinneadh, the Irish language version of The Last of the Name.
From Fintown,Co Donegal, is a diocesan priest and chaplain at Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair. Received Ph.D. at University of Ulster for postgraduate studies in education and history. Member of the Executive of Co. Donegal Historical Society.
From Glencolmcille, Co. Donegal runs Oideas Gael which organises summer language and cultural programmes and publishes Beo.ie, the online monthly Irish language magazine . He is also Chairperson of Údaras na Gaeltachta.
Is an independent Social and Economic Consultant since 1995. Previously he worked for the NI Economic Research Centre, Combat Poverty and the Education Research Centre at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin.
Now living in Derry, is a founder member of the Bogside Community Association .and has long been associated with local community organisations. He was Vice Chairman of the first Northern Ireland Policing Board and is Chairman and Chief Executive of Northland Films and Director at the Northlands Centre.
A native of Belfast, is Head of the School of International Business at University of Ulster, Magee Campus. She has directed a number of programmes for businesses in the North West, including Corporate Crafts and Inward Entrepreneurs.
Sean Cannon is a legend of the Irish folk scene. A member of the legendary Dubliners and one of the most in demand folk musicians in Europe, touring constantly both as a member of the Dubliners and in his own right. For over four decades Sean has been a constant favourite on the live circuit with his passionate and rousing performances and his unequalled reputation as a singer and raconteur. Sean will be acoompanied by his son James, a singer with a deep and passionate voice.
A writer, photographer, musician from Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary, has won many literary awards for his published prose work and several volumes of poetry Oven Lane, All Souls and One Another (Gallery Press publications). In Spring 2005, he held the Chair in Irish Studies at Villanova University, Pennsylvania. Elected to Aosdána in 1998.
An all female group of singers got together through a weekend Voice Workshop, facilitated by Frankie Armstrong, a voice teacher from Wales. They will sing songs on this year’s theme Work - farming, fishing and factory songs.
Is a renowned actor, braoadcaster, who teaches creative writing through the medium of storytelling and poetry in schools in the North West. She has performed one women shows on stage and presented her own show, Murphy’s Law, and participates on the Nine Line programme on BBC Radio Foyle. Involved in the Arts and in Derry’s cultural life for many years.
